St. Nicholas Church in Bălinești, code SV-II-mA-05493. A historical monument of national importance located in Grămești commune, 26 km from Rădăuți, founded and built under the supervision of the speechwriter (great chancellor) Ioan Tăutu between 1493- 1499, whom Romanian genealogists are beginning to include more and more (but the problem is not fully elucidated) among the ancestors of the national poet of the Romanians, Mihai Eminescu.
The church has a rectangular plan, without side apses, instead of polygonal apses at the altar and narthex.
The interior painting, made by the hieromonk Gavriil, dates from the time of Stephen the Great and is considered, along with that of Voroneț, the best-preserved set of frescoes from this period.
The vault of the porch bears a remarkable resemblance to the beams of the Chapel of the Holy Cross in Wawel Cathedral (Krakow), which indicates at least the existence of Polish influences, if not the craftsmen who built the porch came from Poland.
