Slatina Monastery, code SV-II-a-A-05644. A monument of national importance dedicated to the Transfiguration (August 6th), located in Slatina commune, at the foot of Stânișoara mountains (27 km from Fălticeni and 52 km from Suceava).
It was built between 1553-1564 by voivode Alexandru Lăpușneanu (1552-1561; 1564-1568), with an architectural layout similar to that of the Probota monastery.
The original interior painting (16th century) was destroyed by Turkish troops in 1821 and rebuilt in 1828.
The Slatina Monastery has a special place on the map of the Romanian religious tourism also due to the fact that the great Orthodox clergyman Ilie Cleopa (1912-1998) was an abbot at this convent.
