Bukovina Village Museum, code SV-IV-s-B-05694, a public forum monument of national importance, consisting of wooden constructions from the 18th century to the early 20th century. Located on 6 hectares, near Suceava Citadel, it consists of 54 objectives of architecture and folk technique: traditional wooden houses, household outbuildings, popular technical installations, craft workshops.
Folk trades and crafts are represented in the workshops (potter, spoon sculptor, blacksmith, weaver, egg-decorating, furriery), where tourists can learn traditional work techniques.
In a very inspired way, on the valley of the stream that flows through the area where the museum is organized, there are a series of popular hydraulic installations: a mill from the Humor Monastery, a pile of coarse-stuff peasant coats, a shed for wool processing.
An additional element of attraction for tourists is given by the suggestion of the spiritual life of the Bukovina peasants by marking the rites of passage (birth and burial) and integration (wedding). For example, in Vicov House are presented objects related to wedding traditions, in Straja House is imagined the ritual of baptism, and in the Cacica House is emphasized the funeral practices.
The constructions in the museum are arranged according to the six ethnographic areas of Suceava County: Câmpulung Moldovenesc, Dorna, Fălticeni, Humor, Rădăuţi, Suceava.
