Minor Basilica of Cacica. A monument of national importance located in the commune of Cacica (37 km away from Suceava), the most important monument of the Polish community in Suceava County.
The church was built in 1903-1904 in neo-Gothic style, carved stone and pressed brick (from the outside, it seems to be constructed only of red brick), according to the project made by the architect Teodor Marian Talowski, professor at the Lemberg Polytechnic Lwów (today Lviv, Ukraine). In the main altar is a copy of the famous icon “Black Madonna of Częstochowa”, painted in the seventeenth century and brought to Cacica in 1809.
Another tourist attraction element is the replica of the famous cave in Lourdes (France), completed in 1936 in neo-Gothic style.
