Risca Monastery, code SV-II-a-A-05630. A monument of national value located in Risca, 18 km away from the town of Falticeni and 42 km from Suceava. A friary dedicated to St. Nicholas, from 1542 to the present.
The monastery church was built in 1542 by Petru Rareș. Between 1551 and 1552 it was decorated with frescoes by the Greek Stamatello Kontras from Zakynthos (Zantes), the Ionian Islands.
The painting of the monastery was improperly remade in 1827, being preserved inside two original scenes: in the nave, the parable The multiplication of the loaves and in the altar the portrait of Saint Nicholas.
