Church of the Holy Cross (Armenian), code SV-II-m-A-05452. A monument of regional importance, located on Armenească Street, no. 1, next to the bus station and the “Ștefan cel Mare” National College from Suceava.
This church, dedicated to the Exaltation of the Holy Cross (September 14), was built in 1521 by Hacih Hancoian.
The “Holy Cross” church has been restored several times, now having the appearance of 18th-century construction, with various architectural elements common to the Moldavian style.
However, specialists consider that the Moldavian vaulting system, characterized by the use of side bows and the second row of pendants, is of Iranian origin, being transmitted to Moldavia through Armenia!
