Museum of Natural Sciences, a public forum monument of local (county) importance, situated in Suceava, Ștefan cel Mare Street, no. 23, in a edifice built between 1811-1814.
The museum houses, in the permanent exhibition halls and warehouses, over 119,000 heritage pieces. Visitors can admire valuable collections of mineralogy, petrography, palaeobotany (samples of paleo flora and mine flowers – “Crystal Room”), paleozoology, botany, entomology, ornithology. Of particular importance are the collections of bark beetles and golden wasps, infrequent in Romania, the leaf prints and the fragments of extinct animals, which lived during the geological eras.
Tourists can also admire a series of spectacular dioramas regarding the wild animals, which are representative of Bukovina. The halls are equipped with state-of-the-art audio-video technology, which presents the animals in their natural environment.
Visitors are also presented with a 360° panoramic projection of dinosaurs from the marine and forest environment, with impressive audio-video effects (including the interactive floor).
