In 1743, the construction of a Roman Catholic church and a monastery for missionary monks of the Teatin order began in Khorodenka. The place of worship was completed and consecrated on July 2nd, 1760. The Catholic Church in Khorodenka became the first significant work of the well-known Italian architect Bernard Meretin, who collaborated with the talented sculptor Johann Georg Pinsel. The Catholic building was built in Baroque style.
The church is equipped with large vaulted underground spaces. Sanctums were attached to the vault of the Catholic church at various levels. A bell tower was additionally built in the 1930s. The defensive wall around the church was replaced with a crenellated wall. In the churchyard rises the figure of the Virgin Mary – the work of the great Ukrainian sculptor Johann Pinsel. He is also the author of the sculpture of the main altar, above which is depicted the image of the Mother of God, the iconostasis and the two smaller altars.
