Dragomirna Monastery, code LMI SV-II-a-A-05577. A monument of international value located 12 km from Suceava.
The monastery was founded by Anastasie Crimca (1560-1629), the creator of the school of calligraphy and illuminated manuscripts from Dragomirna.
Rectangular in plan, the monastery church is divided into a porch, narthex, nave and altar. It is the most imposing ecclesiastical building in Suceava County (35 meters long, 9.5 meters wide, 42 meters high), with a style that separates both the Moldavian tradition of the fifteenth century and the tradition of painted monasteries of the sixteenth century.
Additional elements of tourist attraction: the coffin with the relics of the Holy Great Martyr Jacob the Persian (martyred on November 27, 421); the wooden iconostasis of the large church, made of yew wood in 1613, in the Central European Rococo style, originary from the Solca monastery; a crystal chandelier donated in 1767 by Empress Catherine the Great of Russia; the 1100 kg bell called “Zaporojan” given by the same empress.
